The colored gemstones transparency: the Assogemme conference at Vicenzaoro

Assogemme will be giving a seminar entitled: “The colored gemstones transparency - The beginning of sustainable gem sourcing movement” on the 9th of September 2019 at Vicenzaoro Fair.

The seminar concerning the traceability of colored gemstones and the creation of international partnerships.

For the first time in Vicenzaoro, Assogemme will receive a delegation of Burmese mine owners and gemstones operators.

This important initiative aims to support socially responsible practices in the mining sector, thanks to the involvement of Burmese companies active on Mogok, and the subsequent implementation of a training session on the cutting of gems through the transfer of Italian machinery in the Burmese territory.

The project is launched thanks to the support of UNIDO ITPO United Nations Industrial Development Organizations, ICE Italian Trade Agency, and MISE Ministry of Economic Development.

Assogemme is the Italian national organisation associated to Confindustria, representing companies that span the jewellery supply chain, composed by the leading colored gemstones, diamonds, pearl, and coral wholesalers, industry professionals, dealers, estate jewelers, manufacturers and retailers.
Assogemme membership provides professionals with the education, resources and networking opportunities needed to add value to their businesses.
